YES! I am still around! Sorry for all of my recent absenteeism.. I know, it’s become chronic! I have reasons for not posting, but none of which are really an excuse…
I’ve been busy with life-stuff, as I’m sure most of you have been as well. It’s summer and nobody wants to be inside loafing around reading (or writing) blog posts! I don’t know where you are reading from, but here in the mid-western U.S. it’s been nearly 100*c for about two weeks now! The pools have been packed, the fans haven’t shut off and all the ice cream is half melted… I LOVE summer!
I’ve began doing a workout program with my girlfriend called INSANITY and yes, it’s seriously kicking my butt! After that, the only thing I really have energy for is falling asleep!
This wouldn’t be The Beautiful Ending if I didn’t leave you with some bit of encouragement for the day, so here it is.
Back in May an F4 tornado destroyed a huge chunk of Joplin, Mo. The other day I read that the tornado only took 45 seconds to pass through… It killed/injured hundreds and completely flattened everything it rolled over… Nobody saw it coming, and it only took 45 seconds to change the course of so many lives. Today, as you go about your routine, pull back and pay attention, listen to the voices of your friends, your children, breathe deep, look into the sun, sit down and sip a glass of iced tea… it could all be stripped from you in less than 45 seconds. You entire life could be flipped upside down and change forever… Everyone wishes for an extra hour in their day, one more chance to do things right… lets see if we can slow down our moments by appreciating them and soaking the world in… get your priorities straight and don’t waste another day of your very short time here. When you are lying down to die, you won’t wish you had one more day to watch TV, or clean the house, or finish that report, to make a dollar, to be angry or fight with someone you love over something stupid… you will wish for one more day with your family, one more hug, one more long sigh, one more dinner around the table, one more chance to make your moments count for something… today is your chance to have it, don’t waste it.
Good post. It’s so easy wish the days away because it’s hot. I just mentioned that to my wife earlier this morning.
Awesome! Thanks, man. Glad to have you back for this short post.
